25% of all dwellings sold in Sofia are bought for rent. The main reason is good tourism, which develops in the city. In Sofia preferred locations for acquiring similar properties are the central and southern regions of the city.

The engine in the market in Sofia is the increase in the frequency of low-cost airlines, thanks to which the short-haul trips in the country have increased.

In Sofia the share of purchases of properties for rent is between 20 and 30 per cent. It is a common practice to buy homes for example in "Studentski Grad" for one of the children and after the completion of their studies, the property is put on the market for renting.It is hard to say at the moment what is the share of property that is being redeemed by enterprising people. However, landlords are pleased with this scheme as they ensure a better return on their investment.

The proportion of dwellings purchased for investment in Sofia is 45%, but some of them are not leased. The reason for this is that owners just do not want tenants to demolish their property and leave their bills unpaid.
