Bulgaria is in the top three countries in the European Union (EU) with the largest growth in construction in July, data from the European Statistical Office Eurostat show.
The annual increase in construction output is 4.3% in the seventh month of the year, which places our country in third place by growth. Romania is the leader with almost a 40% increase, the second in Hungary with 33%.
Slovakia recorded the sharpest decline - 7.7%, followed by France with a decrease of 2.5%.
Hungary and Romania are also the countries with the highest increase in construction in July compared to June - 9.6% and 4.1% respectively. In France and Slovakia, the sharpest drop was 4.2% and 2% respectively.
Overall, in July in the EU, annual growth in construction output reached 1.7% and in the euro area, it was 1.1%. Compared to June, changes are minimal.
Construction growth is mainly determined by building construction. Infrastructure construction is growing but at a slower pace.
