In the country, there is a rise in lodgings that are put into operation during the last three months of 2020

In the country, there is a rise in lodgings that are put into operation during the last three months of 2020 according to the National Statistical Institute (NSI).

There are 879 lodgings with 3912 houses that are put into operation between July and September. The houses are with 91 more than the ones rendering an account of the same period of time last year.

However, the average usable area of the newly-built buildings is decreasing from 97 sq. m. to 91, 6 sq. m. compared to the ones from the third quarter in 2019.

People in Gabrovo live in the most spacious houses. The average usable area there is 190, 9 sq. m. The second place is for Ruse with 181,5 sq. m. of the average usable area. The places where the citizens live in the tiniest lodgings are Blagoevgrad (65,9 sq. m.) and Kustendil (56,9 sq. m.)

The average usable area in the capital of the houses put into operation is circa 95 sq. m. for the third trimester. In 2019 the number for the same period of time is 100 sq. m.

This year the lodgings in Plovdiv are also tinier in comparison to 2019. The average usable area for 2020 is 92 sq. m. and 98 sq. m. for 2019.

There is a drastic decrease in the average usable area in Varna – from 96 sq. m. to 74 sq. m.

The common average usable area of the new lodgings is 358, 400 sq. m. which is 23, 8%compared to the same period of time in 2019. There is also an increase in the lodging area with 34, 6 %, and 274, 800 sq. m.

Sofia is the leader of new houses put into operation – 1173 during the third quarter. The second place is for Varna (993), followed by Plovdiv (568). 100 houses are put into operation in Blagoevgrad, Burgas, and Sofia – region. The cities where the number is the lowest are Montana (7) and Vidin (2).

The relative share of the newly-built lodgings is the highest – 73,2 %. The second place is for the housing cooperatives (18,1%). The number of new blocks and houses is growing in comparison to the third trimester of 2019. On the other hand, the number of mixed-type buildings and villas is decreasing.

The share of one-bedroom houses is the highest – 41,6%, followed by the two-bedroom ones (35,2%) and the lodgings with six or more rooms (3%).
