The capital Sofia is solidified as a leader in new residential construction, show the data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) has issued permits for construction in the first quarter and started new buildings.

The evidence suggests that it is very likely that the pace of future housing construction to begin to slow down. The number of permits issued reports rather more moderate growth rates, construction of housing less than last year.

For the period January – March in Sofia city are licences issued 139 to 153 a year earlier.

Most homes are about to be launched in the areas of Sofia - 1 321,Varna -, 429, Plovdiv-362 and Burgas - 344. For comparison, in the first quarter of last year were issued permits for the construction of housing in the capital 1 423, respectively, 491 in Varna, 921 in Plovdiv and 454 in Burgas.

In the construction of administrative buildings as a leader emerges Sofia town. In most of the other areas of the country there are no office buildings started.

In the first quarter of 2016, local administrations have issued permits for the construction of residential buildings with 993, 3 434 homes and 508 473 sq.m. gross floor area (GFA), show the data of the National Statistical Institute.

Construction of the largest number of new buildings started in Sofia city - 109 residential, 6 Administrative and 29 other buildings, Plovdiv -85 residential and 57 other buildings, Burgas - 104 residential and 32 other buildings, Varna -80 residential and 9 other buildings.
