The results of the company for construction services MacGraw-Hill Construction, conducted in 62 countries in partnership with engineering giant United Technologies and the World Green Building Council show that 63% of surveyed architects, property owners and construction companies have projects "green "office buildings planned for implementation over the next three years.

Half of the study participants did have plans for renovation aimed to enhance the environmental performance of buildings.

The data also show that 51% of respondents expect "green" construction projects to occupy about 60% of the work by 2015. In comparison, currently "green" construction projects will provide about 28% of the work of the respondents.

The survey results also show that more developed services for "green" buildings in response to the demand by businesses, 35% rely on the requirements of their customers, and 30% cite lower operating costs as a major reason to invest in this type of construction.

Property owners argue that investment in construction of "green" buildings and upgrading of existing becomes more justified.

Usually the projects for construction of new "green" buildings lead to savings in average operating costs by about 8% over a period of one year and 15% over five years. At the same time, the value of the building is increased by an average of 7%.
