Expectations are that price rises will calm down this year, but levels will remain stable and high.
Last year it was one of the best for the plots of land in Sofia, and this year's demand is expected to increase despite the rise in prices.
The factors that affect the rise of land prices in Sofia and the big cities are several. First of all, it is the higher demand for housing by buyers and the lower supply because of the insufficient supply of new construction. The influence of the better economic microclimate in the country and the opportunity to buy a new home with a mortgage loan at low-interest rates are also influenced.
The main priority for investors this year remains the discovery of sufficiently large terrains of attractive locations to satisfy the needs of buyers and to reduce the housing deficit.
The highest interest remains in the purchase of housing in the central parts of Sofia and the eastern districts. The most sought-after areas in 2017 are Lozenets, Zona B-18, Zona B-5, Krastova vada, Manastirski Livadi-Iztok, Izgrev.
There is interest in lower-budget locations such as "Nadezhda", "Lyulin", "Mladost", "Ovcha Kupel". There is also the strongest demand for plots for housing construction.
