Until 2027, the cities to which most of the population is heading will be subjected to an improvement in lifestyle. One of the most important things is creating a “smart” environment to facilitate communication between residents, businesses and governments. At the base of the major cities infrastructure are large data, the internet of things (IoT) and renewable energy.
The main factors that will influence the development of cities and make them “smarter” over the next decade are the internet and the vast amount of data that the population accumulate and show its behavior. As a result of connectivity and intelligence, cities will become living organisms. With so many sensors that collect data and communicate with each other, the cities of the future will start thinking for themselves, so they will be able to make decisions.
“Smart” cities will also have a positive impact on other two important sectors – health and education. A useful component of the “smart city” is an eHealth subsystem which will help to improve pre-hospital care. As far as education is concerned, teachers and students will be working at a distance, a method we are already witnessing.
The construction of “smart cities” requires significant investment, so a small part of the world’s cities will be completed by 2025.
